carmi wanted a natural smokey eye to try out. we tried both with a highlighted/glowing face and an all matte/less shine look — she decided to go with the matte finish which I also thought would work great for an outdoor summer wedding 🙂

I wanted to bring back this editorial shoot I did with Helen Hosain. She’s an amazing and talented photographer and the photos below are proof. I will forever remember this day because of the mini adventure through the woods while dragging my huge traincase, having the grilled cheese sammich at the muir woods cafe [yum-oh], going off trail down a mini cliff and just having a ton of good ole fun. By the way, isn’t Frances gorg?! Hope to work with Helen again soon!

Finally. I have the time to post some photos from Dianne & Jaymar’s (#rnw54) wedding! You can check out their TWO-PART feature on Encarnacion Photography’s website/blog, here. I was a bridesmaid & the makeup artist this day, and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t exhausting, but I loved every minute of every moment starting a 5:30am (SHARP). Dianne & Jaymar, if you’re reading this..I can’t thank you enough for letting me be a part of this special day of love! I love you both, fam!

My first experience out of state in the beautiful city of Chicago. I want to thank Bien for giving me the opportunity to travel and do her bridal party’s (of 11 ladies) makeup on her big day. Alongside Heather Lim from Chicago, who is super talented with hair. Photo credit goes out to Gabriel Boone Photography of course…Last but not the least, I have to share this amazeballs highlight vid by Henry Wu… click HERE.

So, I’ve always told folks that my dad was such an adventurer back then, and he took us to many places of nature. Muir Woods, being one of those. I was able to re-live my childhood adventures with my dad during this photoshoot with Helen Hosain. I was telling Helen and her assistant/partner Charmaine, that I can now compare my photo from childhood in the tree, and the one I took while on this shoot (thanks, Charmaine!). This was so much fun: trekking through the trails (and off-trail) and even going down a steep “mini cliff” to get to a creek for some good shots. Even though I didn’t wear the proper “hiking” attire [chuck taylors, skinny jeans], it didn’t matter – I loved being out there, and oh man..I had the chance to try their cafe’s grilled cheese & tomato soup (probably one of the highlights of that day..mmm!).
Here’s a sneak peek of Helen’s “Into the Woods” concept with model Frances Tomei. I love everything about it. Thanks again Helen! I hope to work with you soon — anyway I did leave my jacket, which means I should be seeing you sooner rather than later 😉
